Council and Business Support Officer (37 hours a week, 3 year fixed-term contract)

Working in partnership with Somerset County Council, the Somerset Association of Local Councils (SALC) is seeking to recruit a talented administrator and advisor to provide support to the association and our member councils.

You will be responsible for managing the business and financial operations of the association and provide support to our chief executive and board of directors. In addition, you will be offering advice to our member councils on a broad range of governance issues and working with our Health and Wellbeing Officer to deliver our new, pioneering health and wellbeing programme for town and parish councils in Somerset.

You will be working alongside a small but highly experienced team of local council professionals. SALC provides training, advice and support to over 260 town, parish and city councils across the county and wishes to expand its membership offer as we continue to emerge from the pandemic and see local government reorganisation taking shape in Somerset.

If you already have experience and a track record of delivery in local government, then this could be the role for you. In return, we will offer a competitive salary (£30,984 - £32,798 pa) and a supportive and flexible working environment.
