Facilities Administration Assistant – Bridgwater Town Council

We have a vacancy for a Facilities Administration Assistant. This is a permanent, part-time contract.
Grade: NJC SCP 5 (£18,795 pro rata – 2020 NJC pay rise pending) plus annual pay rise as awarded by the NJC and Local Government Pension Scheme.
Hours of Work: 16 per week to be worked in agreement with the Town Clerk
Leave Entitlement: 21 days’ pro rata per annum, two statutory days, plus pro rata public holidays
Responsible to: Town Clerk

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time Facilities Administration Assistant to join our team. The main purpose of your role will be ensuring that our premises are administered in a professional and smooth manner and dealing with hirers and their bookings.
Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, be computer literate and have experience of working in an office. They should be able to work as part of a small team, yet also be confident working on their own initiative. Previous experience in the public sector would be helpful, although not essential and training where required will be provided.
The successful candidate will be confident and enjoy dealing with members of the public, as part of the local community. The post includes responsibility for bookings, liaising with tenants and the town council’s contractors, caretaking and cleaning staff.
Bridgwater Town Council is responsible for the Town Hall (Theatre, meeting rooms and offices) and will be the main place for your work. Other premises we are responsible for in the town, include; three retail units, Blake Museum, Trinity Hall, Arts Centre and the buildings at Quantock Road Cemetery will require your attention at times in relation to their programme of maintenance and statutory annual checks.
