VACANCY for Parish Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer

Starting no later than 1 July 2021

Applications are invited for the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer (RFO) for Carhampton Parish Council, nr Minehead, Somerset upon the retirement of the present Clerk.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of administration including financial record-keeping and monitoring, advising Councillors on policy and procedures, and attending/minuting monthly evening meetings (1st Thursday of each month).   This is a part-time, home-based position with a basic 10-hr week.

Experience of local government administrative practices would be helpful.   However, additional training can be provided through the Somerset Association of Local Councils (SALC).

The salary will be as per the national recommended scale for part-time Clerks (NALC SCP 11) i.e., from £11.27 per hour (pay award wef 1 April 2021).
