Rimpton Parish Council – Parish Clerk & RFO

Rimpton Parish Council seeks a Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer, a part-time post averaging 3 hours per week.   The salary will be in accordance with the national recommended salary scale for small to medium parish councils (LC1) which is currently in the range £10.63 - £11.73 per hour, dependent on experience.

The successful candidate is not required to have local government experience (though this would be an advantage) and professional training is available.

Duties include evening attendance in Rimpton at the two-monthly (6 per year) ordinary Parish Council meetings and at (very rare) extraordinary Parish Council meetings, producing agendas and minutes, managing the accounts, handling correspondence and undertaking other administrative duties. Familiarity with computers and IT is essential and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be a distinct advantage.
