Recruitment of part-time Parish Clerk
Salary Scale: at national rates
Misterton Parish Council is seeking to appoint a Parish Clerk to support Councillors in achieving the aims and aspirations of the Parish of Misterton. The Clerk will be the proper officer of the Council and as such is under a statutory duty to carry out all the functions in particular to serve or issues all the notifications required by law of a Local Authority.
The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the council is up to date with policies, procedures, training, privacy, data protection compliance, the effective management of Council resources and produce all information required for Councillors to make effective and informed decisions at meetings.
Applicants must demonstrate that they have relevant experience of local government law and procedures, effective service delivery, be motivated, community focused, and possess sound managerial, communication and organisational skills.
A Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification is required as a minimum, or a willingness to achieve this within 12 months of commencing the role.
Attendance at evening meetings and weekend events will be required. The task is expected to occupy 10 hours per week for a qualified applicant but possibly 15 hours per week at the start for an inexperienced applicant.
