Assistant Grounds Manager

Full Time, Permanent, Salary range £18,795 - £19,945

Ilminster Town Council owns and manages a range of amenity areas. The main recreation area is home to thriving Cricket and Football Clubs and adjacent to Herne Hill - a Local Nature Reserve; in addition, there are some smaller recs with children’s play areas and a cemetery as well as some small floral displays to maintain.

The successful applicant will work alongside the Grounds Manager to keep the amenity areas neat and tidy, empty all the bins regularly and undertake repairs to bins, seats and benches.  The role will involve driving a tractor, towing, using strimmers and various grass cutting machinery. The role will suit a person who likes to work outside all year round regardless of the weather.
