OPERATIONS MANAGER

Chard Town Council is looking for an Operations Manager to work full time (37 hours per week) to head up the Operations Team. This is an exciting time to join the team as the Council moves out into the future.

The Operations Manager will lead the Operations Team effectively, co-ordinate and ensure the efficient delivery of operations, including the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Council’s facilities and assets. These include The Guildhall, parks, open spaces, cemetery, closed churchyard, allotments, and street cleaning contract. The Operations manager will also be expected develop projects in accordance with the Council’s priorities.

Hours of Work - As required Monday to Friday but must be prepared to work out of office hours in order to attend Council meetings, Council business and civic functions.

Salary – (SCP Range 30 – 33) £33,782 to £36,922

CORPORATE SERVICES MANAGER

Chard Town Council has a vacancy for a full time (37 hours per week) Corporate Services Manager. This is an exciting time to join the team as Chard moves forward into the future.

The Corporate Services Manager will lead the Corporate Services Team effectively, co-ordinate and ensure the efficient delivery of administrative and financial activities across a broad range of services, and to work as part of the Team contributing to the achievement of the Council’s aims and objectives.

The Corporate Services Manager will work closely with the Executive Officer and Operations Manager to help develop and maintain information and monitoring systems that are accurate and up to date at all times.

Hours of Work - As required Monday to Friday but must be prepared to work out of office hours in order to attend Council meetings, Council business and civic functions.

Salary – (SCP Range 24 – 28) £28,672 to £32,234

DEMOCRATIC SERVICES OFFICER

Chard Town Council is looking for a Democratic Services Officer to work 20 hours per week. The role is an integral part of the Corporate Management Team. This is an exciting time to join the team as the Council moves into the future.

The Democratic Services Officer will be responsible for providing efficient and effective support to the Corporate Management functions of the Council and the Executive Officer, including overseeing Human Resource matters, including training, Council Policies and Accreditation, and the administration of Council and Committee meeting paperwork.

Hours of Work - As required Monday to Friday but must be prepared to work out of office hours in order to attend Council meetings, Council business and civic functions when necessary.

Salary – (SCP Range 13 – 17) £22,627 to 24,491 per hour.

GRANTS OFFICER

Chard Town Council is looking for a Grants Officer to work 15 hours per week to join the Corporate Management Team. This is an exciting time to join the team as the Council moves forward.

The Grants Officer will be responsible for identifying and developing successful funding and grant applications for the provision of Council services and projects to deliver the strategic objectives of the Council, including sourcing and applying for grants on behalf of the Council and securing maximum funding from Principal Authorities.

Hours of Work - As required Monday to Friday, but must also be prepared to work out of office hours in order to attend Council meetings and events etc.

Salary – (SCP Range 13 – 17) (£9,173 - £9,928 pa)

EVENTS OFFICER

Chard Town Council is looking for an Events Officer to work full time (37 hours per week) to join the Corporate Management Team. This is an exciting time to join the team as the Council moves forward.

The main purpose of the role is to increase the provision, level of quality and public attendance in events to generate additional income to reduce the tax burden on local taxpayers, including an increased number of events at the Guildhall, increased room hires (of all relevant buildings), to develop a good quality sustainable Market, and to promote existing events operated and organised by the Town Council.

Hours of Work - As required Monday to Friday but must be prepared to work out of office hours in order to attend Council events.

Salary – (SCP Range  22 – 26) (£27,041 - £30,451 pa).
