Chapel Allerton Parish Council is looking for a new Parish Clerk/ Responsible Financial Officer for an average of 20 hours per month, paid at the LC1 (7-12) national salary scales pro rata, depending on qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate will be: interested in the local community, enjoy meeting people, and have a desire to help the community; be good at working as part of a small but close team; have a good knowledge of Microsoft IT systems; be happy with flexible home-based working which will include some evenings and weekends at times.
The role is interesting and varied involving:
- Attending and administering Parish Council meetings held every six weeks on a Monday evening, and occasional ad hoc planning meetings.
- Updating the council website
- Keeping the accounts and complying with audit requirements and protocols (using MS Excel currently)
- Dealing with correspondence and phone enquiries from parishioners, councillors, and outside bodies
