Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge Town Council is seeking a full-time town clerk to work with the new council elected in May. This is an interesting and challenging role for which the candidate must possess excellent leadership, communication & administrative skills.

Sound understanding of the sector, its current issues and relevant legislation is essential. The successful candidate will ideally hold the CiLCA or other relevant qualification, but consideration will be given to applicants who can complete the qualification within 12 months.

The town council has 5 committees, it operates The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre, 3 cemeteries, and 2 allotment sites. It is anticipated that a new seafront play area will be installed during 2022. The clerk will work strategically with the RFO and councillors to ensure careful oversight of all aspects of the council’s finances and effective management of resources.
