An interactive workshop on document management and control; a mixture of delivery and participation.
The course is aimed at Clerks/RFOs who are managing smaller councils and associated paperwork, particularly suitable for those who:
- work from home
- are new to the role
- are wishing to modernise a paper-based system towards a more computerised approach
A friendly and productive session to provide advice, assist evaluation of current systems and to provide simple solutions to collation of data records.
Bring your laptop to develop a management document as the day progresses.
Topics Covered:
- GDPR and record keeping
What you need to keep and for how long
- Evaluating, organising and referencing records, dates and action planning
Areas of Focus:
- Financial records
- Insurance and risk assessments
- Title Deeds, leases, agreements and contracts
- Allotments, cemeteries and playparks
What you will need:
o Laptop and charger, please note the documents will be based on spreadsheets so appropriate software will be required

o Support with building a bespoke spreadsheet for your council, including tips and advice on managing spreadsheets (course is suitable for those new to using spreadsheets)
