Parish Clerk: Hatch Beauchamp.
Hatch Beauchamp is a village of some 640 people south of Taunton on the A358.
The Hatch Beauchamp Parish Council seeks a Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO). The appointment is for 4 hours per week. The salary will be as per the national recommended scale commensurate with experience: 18-22 of NJC scale (currently £9.392-£10.739 per hour). Hours may be extended by agreement with the Council.
The Parish Clerk is responsible for organising all meetings of the Council, publishing agendas and minutes, dealing with correspondence, managing the parish council pages of the village website, liaising with other organisations, overseeing certain projects, and assisting the chair in public meetings. In addition, as RFO, the Clerk will be responsible for all aspects of financial administration of the Council.
The Clerk works from home and must be computer literate. An allowance is given for fixed expenses and mileage. Attendance at the evening meetings of the Council is a requirement of the position. Meetings normally take place on the second Wednesday of every other month. Extraordinary meetings are sometimes required.
Our Parish Council is making a determined effort to reach out to the parish and modernise its communications. We are looking for someone who will support this project. Handover in late March and start date in early April.
